The Return of the Pinafore

Pinafores are everywhere this season, they were featured on the runway  at Christopher Kane, Jil Sander, and Jason Wu for Spring 2013. I love a bit of boy meets girl tailoring and the pinafore dress is the perfect way to pull this off. Endlessly versatile and ever so 'on trend', I am glad to see this old fave return!

The Statetment Jacket

I already have a bright yellow jacket so I probably did not need another, however I just couldn't resist this Aspen Yellow Jacket by SheikeI instantly fell in love with the attention to detail, this jacket has it all from the matte black leather piping to the high neck that is complimented by a small peplum. It is definitely visually arresting and I believe that throwing on a bright statement jacket is an easy way to ramp up any outfit to the next level.

Style Crush

I first came across Miroslava Duma when I saw a photo of her wearing a stunning Givenchy  flower scalloped coat. I decided to find out who she was and I was certainly not disappointed with her style. She was a fashion editor for Harper's Bazaar Russia, but after having her baby she decided to work free-lance. Miroslava has become a favorite of street style photographers and is regularly featured in high fashion magazines. Stunning beautiful and effortlessly chic, she really has a wardrobe most people would sell their soul for.

Winter White

The color white has always been recognised for reflecting a  sense calm and serenity.  One of the biggest trends right now is head to toe white, fashion designers worldwide (such as Chloe, Stella McCartney and Dolce & Gabbana) have become infatuated with the sense of minimalism that white embraces.

You might think  that white is a risky color to undertake; it is easy to ruin and  completely visible to the eye, but what is fashion without risks? I am not a fan of the rule that you should only wear white in summer. I believe it is a crisp and fresh look and is just as good in the winter as in the summer months! I wore my Zara skort, new Windsor Smith shoes and an over-sized white blazer that I wore as a cape to Sunday lunch. Just make sure its not raining and you can rock head to toe white in winter.

Splurge Vs Steal

The Dion Lee laser-cut, leather jacket is a unique and stunning piece that I have been wanting for ages. This jacket has been featured in high fashion magazine editorials and been worn by the likes of Lara Bingle, Miranda Kerr and Vogue Editor Christine Centenera. The jacket retails for about $2,000 and is available to buy online here!

Alternatively if your budget does not stretch as far as $2,000, I was very excited to find a similar jacket here  for a fraction of the price. I just  placed an order and I can not wait  for mine to arrive!

Exposed Zip Red Pencil Dress

I wore this dress Friday night to dinner, I teamed it with black ankle boots from Aldo and a black Chanel clutch. The dress is from Victoria Beckham's collection, I adore her designs. They are comfortable, very stylish and I love the exposed zip detail in the back. Her dresses are a little more than what I would usually pay however I believe they are well worth the money as I have worn this particular one countless times and never get bored of it!

Goth Chic

I love wearing head to toe black with a strong lip color, I feel its dramatic yet chic and you can never go wrong! The TV shows I am watching at the moment are all taking gothic chic as their fashion inspiration from True Blood to the Vampire Diaries, dark is in! I have always found the LBD slightly boring but I love this Asos dress, it is full length, slashed to the thigh and backless. Embrace your inner goth and turn to black!
