Caped LBD

To celebrate my partner's birthday I took him to dinner and I wore a black caped dress from NastyGal.com. I have been obsessed with capes ever since Gwyneth  Paltrow wore a cream floor length caped gown by Tom Ford in 2012. My dress unfortunately was not floor length but was appropriate for the occasion. I accessorized with gold rimed shoes from ASOS and necklace from House of Harlow. I knew when my partner told me that he did not want to be seen with me as I looked like I was in fancy dress that this look was not going to be for every one!

 

 

 

Birthday Dress

Last night was my birthday and an excellent way to help get over the fact that your getting old is a new dress of course.  I wore a sleeveless cocktail dress with quilted leatherette panels and a structured peplum. My fave part of the dress had to be has a low-cut backline that featured a statement clip buckle in the center. You can't go wrong with an LBD! I had a lovely night and definitely over indulged but that's what birthdays are for.

The Ultimate LBD

I wore this dress on holidays recently in Singapore and posted picture on my Facebook page, since then I have had a couple of requests asking where it's from. The dress is from Miss Selfridge and you can still grab one from here. Initially it sold out quickly however they have restocked it recently. The dress very much inspired by Balenciaga Fall '13 collection. It had been hanging in my wardrobe for a couple of months as I debated where to wear it as I felt it was to dressy for a regular Saturday night out. I think The Cut restaurant at The Marina Bay Sands was the perfect location, I felt very girly and glamorous in it. I accessorised the dress with a YSL Clutch, black gold bar sandals from Asos and a cute serpent necklace from Lovisa.

Balmain inspired Bodycon Dress

I love the image above of the embellished dress by French fashion house Balmain. As soon as I saw it I  immediately started to look for something similar. I came across this pearl encrusted black bodycon dress from Asos that looks quite similar to the Balmain piece. The detailing is beautiful and I adore the cut out back. I teamed it with a Vamp Lip color and ankle boots to give it an edgier look. You can get this dress here!
